Jump On It

I have a deep love for jumpers, jumpsuits, rompers.  I don't know why.  Maybe because they are so easy to wear, you literally have to think about putting on one thing versus three or four. Or maybe it is because they can be so versatile, carry you through the seasons, and can go from casual to elegant in a flash. I just love them.

Now I know that not everyone feels this way about jumpsuits.  It could be a free of screaming "I LOVE THE 80's", or maybe you just don't know the best way to style one without being reminded of a 5 year old. I get it.  One piece outfits are not the easiest to put together until you are comfortable with the idea of wearing one. Hopefully this post helps ease the comfort level a bit.

The below jacket is, wait for it....

Labworks for Target (again because its amazing!).  It very much resembles last years Rag & Bone jacket that many a celeb was wearing:

Case in point- Emma Stone (major girl crush)

Anyways for a fraction of the cost, this versatile sweater/jacket is worth every penny.  It would look adorable with jeans and flats, or black skinny pants and heels for a night out. Style with a dress or tailored skirt for an office appropriate look.  The possibilities are endless.

I paired the jacket with a jumpsuit because I wanted the contrast of the flowy pants with the fitted, cropped top. I also struggle the most in my wardrobe with "going out looks".  Having been in Corporate America since graduation, I often tend to buy work appropriate clothes or more casual wear. For me, this looks is perfect for going out.  Easy, classic with the black and white, but still different and unique.

Back in Action

The title of this post means so many things.  Seven & Seven is back in action, the camo pants are back in action (I felt you all needed another shot at being convinced that camo is cool), and our lives are starting to feel back in action, too. Goodbye Off Week of Moving & Stressing, and hello Thanksgiving!

I, like most of us, love to re-wear and need to re-wear clothes.  So while you have already seen the camo pants paired with a bright color, I wanted to tone it down a bit with a more neutral look. I love a chunky knit for fall/winter paired with a fitted pant to contrast the bulky-ness. This sweater will become a staple in my wardrobe because I am obsessed with the fun turtle neck, the elbow patches, and the classic cut. You will see it again!

Also, since age of 3 when I first sprouted hair (yes, 3, I was a late bloomer ha), I have had a special place in my heart for headbands. Headbands are my personal cure for 2nd day hair. A little dry shampoo + a headband = things look much better. So welcome to the blog headbands, I know you, too, will be back soon.

New pictures shot in our MICHIGAN backyard!

Slinky, Slouchy Sweater

So everyone has an off week, and this week is mine, 100%.  Between packing, moving, interviewing, and trying to help everyone adjust to our new lives in Michigan, I am pretty tired. I apologize for the lack of posts this week.  Seven and Seven will back to normal soon.

The best parts of the week: the puppies love their new yard, my new sweater from Target came, & I potentially have a new job!!

The worst parts of the week: I broke my glasses, I locked myself out of the house for 2 hours today in nothing but a t-shirt & yoga pants (I really am losing it), and I miss my Cincinnati friends.

Anyways, enough about me, more about Target & the Labworks collaboration.  If you haven't checked out this online exclusive yet, please do.  Its amazing.  The quality, the designs, the price point, all spot on.

Like I said upfront, its my off week, so don't judge a book by its cover on this one because I am not really doing the Labworks collection justice in these pictures. Check it out for yourself. I think you will be happy, Labworks for Target .

Much love from Michigan!

Cabin Style

I decided to take full advantage of our time in Tennessee to get some weekend outfit shots up.  I could not believe how beautiful the weather, mountains, and of course, my friends, were, and I think these are some of the best pictures to date on Seven and Seven. If only it could always be this gorgeous outside! But I guess it makes you appreciate this warm weather even more.

More on the actual weekend to come (and if you love ribs stayed tuned for a special Man Cave section). A huge thanks to Alaina, Christie, and Brooke for being fantastic models.  Really thankful that I had one last weekend with you guys before this move to Michigan. All the love in my heart :)

As this was a laid back weekend, the featured looks are casual, but still pulled together and fun.  Hope you all had great weekends as well!

Exercising (My Right)

This is not a political post, more of a I decided to have some fun with my voting sticker and celebrate that we have the freedom to choose.

It doesn't matter who we all voted for today, but I do hope you had some fun with it.

Be proud to voice your opinion on this great day, respect those who think differently, and no matter what happens when we all wake up tomorrow, we all live here together.

Now go watch the election results, have a drink if you need to calm down, and celebrate our nation!

And I can't not throw some fashion into it:
Shirt from J. Crew (old), Sweater Vest from Banana (old), Pants from Banana (old), Bracelets from Glamour Me Jewels (Etsy), and voting sticker from Hamilton County, OH

Fall Dress-Ing

Welcome to the newest section of the blog, Fall Dress-Ing!

As you can imagine, Fall Dress-Ing focuses on dresses.  Personally, I am such a summer person with my wardrobe, that I struggle during the colder months.  I feel like I reach for jeans automatically before pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I love dresses April-September, and I want to love them year round. So for this section, I am pushing myself.  And I am pushing you to get a little adventurous, experiment with your wardrobe, and put on a dress!

For the look below, I wanted to mix an ultra feminine dress with a more relaxed jacket to dress it down a bit. Also, this blog is real life.  No makeup artist or hair team helping here.  I literally got home from work after an insane day, showed our apartment tonight, threw on this dress, and put on some lipstick.  Real world.  We don't have a team of people helping us, or always have an hour to get ready.  I am trying to show you that you can pull a look together in 5 minutes and feel great. Do I think I look perfect below? Hell no.  But could I have rocked this look for a happy hour, night out my friends, or dinner date...Absolutely.

So here's to fall dressing, to looking great year round, and to being a girl on the go:

Dress: Chan Lu (old), Jean Jacket (old), Asos Shoes, Laura Mercier Lipstick in Audrey
Dress, similar here: Free People Lace Dress
Jacket, similar here: American Eagle Jean Jacket

Lastly and most importantly, there are a lot of people hurting tonight.  The east coast is suffering like they have never felt before.  Please, please, please, take a minute to check out the resources on how you can help.  We are responsible for our friends and family there, and it only takes a little bit from each of us to help rebuild.  Check out how you can help out those in need here: Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

Black and White, & Red All Over

White jeans...the man, the myth, the legend.  I love white jeans, not just for the summer, but for year round.  And a great pair of white jeans can carry any outfit through the seasons.  If you say goodbye to your white jeans in late August, please, stop.  You are wasting a great staple in your wardrobe.

I dare you to unpack them, slip them on, and go.  White jeans with flats, white jeans with boots, white jeans with just about anything.  Live a little (wearing white).

The two outfits below show two different white jeans looks that are appropriate for fall. I love a classic "black and white" look, as well as using your white jeans to mix in colors and prints. Use these looks as ideas, and then build your own.

This look features the new Target online collection Labwork's sweater (with removable cowl neck and faux leather sleeves, how fun is that??).  My aunt, Chrisi, advised me to check out Labwork's, and the price, quality, and overall versatility of the pieces is perfection.  You can shop the entire collection online here, Target.com. More posts on this collection to come!

(Look 1, Black and White: Item jeans, Labwork's sweater, exclusively from Target, Kate Spade flats, Tory Burch sunglasses, Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum)

(Look 2, Red All Over: Item jeans, Gap sweater, J. Crew shirt, old leopard pumps, Bauble Bar necklace,  Tory Burch sunglasses, and Etsy bracelets)

And if you have been reading my blog, you probably noticed the hair change. Back to the natural color after many, many years of uber blonde.  I am excited for the change, the time seems rights, and I plan to have some fun with this more "natural" version of me. To the dark side :)

Happy dressing up this weekend! Whether its a costume or a date night, have some fun with it!

How Do You Wear Your Pink?

Two posts today because I have a feeling this week is going to be busy and there are more posts to come (Save More October, Drug Store Recap)

Today's outfit is all about the pink. This is the last full week of October, which has brought us changing leaves, Playoff baseball, and all things cider.  But this is the month that we also think about those who have fought, who are fighting, and who have beaten Breast Cancer. And while we should keep these ladies top of mind year round, this is really their month to shine.

So wear your pink proud this week (boys and girls), and take a moment to say a quick prayer or thought for people who are fighting a greater battle than yourself.
